Who we are
We are a diverse team consisting of nine team members with a mix of age, gender and nationalities and with experience stretching between 1 and 25 years within the company. We all have our own areas of responsibility but take pride in supporting and challenging each other to find best solutions for Scania. Responsibilities
You now have the opportunity to become part of and lead one of the most exciting segments at Scania! In this role as a Senior Commodity Purchaser, or Senior Sourcing Manager as we call it, you will be responsible for parts within the Silencer segment with full responsibility for Canning. These products has a high commercial value and is a key contributor to the performance of our vehicles. For these products you will;

  • set and develop the supplier base including strategies that you align cross-functionally within Scania as well as with the Traton group.
  • you will lead the strategy and be responsible for meeting targets with the right balance between Technology, Quality, Delivery, Cost & Sustainability (TQDCS).
  • be part of the so called 3-ring together with colleagues from project purchasing and supplier quality. As commodity purchaser, you are responsible to lead and develop the work within this constellation.

As a Senior Commodity Purchaser, you are also expected to use your broader expertise and competence to guide and support colleagues within the group and department.
We expect you to act as a role model in terms of Purchasing ways of working and actively give advice, guide, support, and share knowledge.

Your profile
You are a person with a great commercial interest and a passion for doing business while staying close to the technology. You are analytical, structured, take own initiatives and are able to handle multiple tasks in parallel and also confident in guiding others. You are good at maintaining relationships and like to represent purchasing internally as well as towards suppliers in a professional way. You are also self-driven with high integrity and contribute to the development of the team.
To succeed in this role we see that you have an academic degree in engineering, business or similar. You also have several years experience from strategic purchasing, in a technical environment. Knowledge of Swedish is an advantage, fluent in spoken and written English is a requirement on advanced level.

My name is Johan Pettersson and I am 45 years old. I have been working at Scania purchasing since 2022, at the company since 2005 and been a leader for the past 15 years in different areas.
I see my role as a manager to create an open and transparent atmosphere that bring the best out of the team and the individual by protecting the team, setting directions, empowering co-workers, building trust and respecting individual needs and diversity. I always try to have a positive mindset and leads by example. Also I see myself as a flexible and adaptable manager who is able to adjust to changing circumstances and respond to unexpected challenges.
