We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer
About the Role:
The team is responsible for product improvements and changes of power solution engines in production. Work mainly occurs after decision point CR6 in projects, but sometimes also before.
Scope of Work:
Design assignments may concern any part of the engine within the organization. The work contributes to improving quality, reducing cost, and solving production-related issues for engines in production after SOP.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently manage and solve PCR (Product Change Request) assignments from pre-study to development and follow up until closure
Act as design resource and sometimes assignment manager for FQ (Field Quality) cases
Support production by assisting Q-team with design work and assignment management
Support or create cost calculations and KPIs for various tasks
Conduct technical investigations within EFR (Exemption From Requirement)
Actively participate in improvement work within the group
Be responsible for introduced product changes, including warranty costs and production quality after SOP
Communicate and collaborate with line groups
Ensure decisions are made by authorized personnel in EFR cases
Follow strategic R&D and improvement plans
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of design experience in automotive or related areas
Tools/Software: 3D Experience, OAS, Catia v5
Chassis, engine, or electrical design experience
Knowledge of design processes (EFR, PCR, PR)
Drawing reviewer
Autonomous and organized
Fluent in English
Preferred / Meriting:
Experience with power solutions
Experience with Field Quality processes
Project management skills
Swedish language skills
Personal Profile:
Self-driven design engineer with a strong interest in the automotive industry
Creative, engaged, and curious about product development
Values communication and enjoys working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
Additional Information:
Full-time, hybrid with at least 3 days/week on-site
Candidate selection is continuous; early applications are recommended
