Electronics Engineer

Trimble is developing Total Stations that includes advanced electronic distance meters (EDMs). The making of an EDM put high demands on the engineering within electronics, optics and mechanics. The art involves detection of pulses ranging from volts down to sub millivolts. Transmit pulses are generated with laser technology and received trough complex optics at high data rates. Trimble is currently looking for a person who wants to be a contributor in our EDM development. Your work will be with the electronics group responsible for the signal processing in the electronics domain.

Work description:

  • MATLAB simulation of transmit and receive signals paths
  • Selection of opto electronic components
  • Schematic design of printed board assemblies
  • Experimental work in the lab to try out theoretical designs on prototypes
  • Close collaboration with the optical and mechanical teams in the development process

Requirements

  • Master of Science within engineering physics, electronics or mechatronics
  • 2-5 years of work experience
  • Fluent English both spoken and written

We think you are an analytical person challenged by working in small teams solving complex engineering problems together with others.

"The launch of the scanning total station SX10 exceeded all market expectations. The strategy ahead is to continue to innovate and develop our two major product lines; total stations and scanning total stations. To enable this - we need to grow.
