Software Development Product Owner

As Product Owner in the Extenda Domestic Clients team you will be part of a talented cross functional team working with business-critical products for well-known customer brands.

The role will require working cross-functionally and collaboratively with our development teams in coordinating activities in complex and challenging client projects from inception to delivery. This includes managing the team back-log, prioritize and coordinate tasks for requirements, development testing and delivery for several products and customers with high quality and speed.

You will have a strong engineering, product centric and agile background. You can take a holistic view of the solution delivery but also dive into technical details and quickly establish credibility with clients, stakeholders and our technical teams.

You will have clear and compelling communication skills with the ability to tune your message with clients, execs, stakeholders or engineers.

You will be reporting to the Professional Services Manager for the Domestic Clients team based in Stockholm

Your workday

At Extenda we work to simplify shopping and deliver great solutions to our customers in the retail industry. We are a leading company in point of sale solutions with over 200 employees in an international working environment.

In the product owner role, you have a variety of interesting duties such as:

  • Act as a connector, bringing customers/stakeholders together with the development team into a direct conversation
  • Interact with different stakeholders such as customers, team manager, project managers and client executives as well as developers, application consultants, test engineers and solution architects.
  • Work with organizing, planning, prioritizing, and reviewing the work done by the development team.
  • Continuously focus on improving ways of working. Inspect and adapt.
  • Contribute to facilitate a collaborative, open and transparent environment.

As part of your responsibilities you will:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and act as the trusted advisor.
  • Promote Extenda's capabilities to clients and identify sales opportunities.
  • Manage and prioritize the Team Backlog in collaboration with peer Product owners, project managers and team manager.
  • Ensure that the work items in the backlog meet definition of ready criteria and that the development team understands the items in the backlog to the level needed.
  • Ensure that the team backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all
  • Participate in risk assessment
  • Rejects backlog items that do not meet defined criteria (DoR, DoD)
  • Accepts backlog items as completed done in iteration reviews
  • Report progress to stakeholders
  • Assist in driving our transformation to a more efficient development organization with continuous integration, automated tests, efficient communication, documentation, knowledge sharing and training.
  • Overall success of the development team and our deliveries

Your personality:

As a person, you are driven and take initiatives. You are a team player who enjoy working closely with other colleagues. You are eager to learn and want to discuss technical solutions. Furthermore, you are passionate about software development, good at customer relations, business oriented, have leadership skills and consider yourself an effective problem solver.

Your experience:

  • Two or more years' experience working as a product owner or as a technical project manager in software development projects
  • Experience from working with software development is meritorious
  • Knowledge about agile practices common in Scrum and Kanban
  • Strong technical background
  • Strong communication skills
  • English: Excellent spoken and written
  • Swedish: Fluent Swedish spoken and written is preferred
  • Leadership skills
  • Commercial understanding
  • Relevant academic background
