Control System Engineer for Performance Analysis

The Scania Powertrain Performance and Analysis group is looking for a new member to broaden our team. One of the most important tasks we have in front of us is to investigate different future powertrain concepts where electrification and traditional technologies will join in a lot of potential scenarios.

A key task for our team is to understand, evaluate and balance different properties of the complete powertrain, considering both software control and hardware aspects. The group's mission is to point the way for Scania to develop the best powertrains in terms of, powertrain performance, driveability and energy efficiency.

Your tasks

We are currently looking for a communicative person with great drive and interest in technical development who can see the big picture:

• Analyse and evaluate technical solutions to reach development targets for powertrain performance, including both electrified and traditional powertrains.
• Analyse and challenge existing powertrain concepts and suggest improvements for both the software and the hardware.
• Suggest new powertrain concepts that secures Scania’s position as market leader in the future.
• Evaluate trucks and bus is an important part of the role so driving license for heavy vehicles is valuable.
• Understand what functionality we need for the future and how this functionality can be implemented into software.
• Deliver simulation results to the organization.
• Perform benchmark on competitors and keep track of the latest trends in heavy duty powertrains
• Develop and maintain physical models of the powertrain and its control system.
• Cooperate cross-functionally within R&D and other entities in the Traton group.

Your profile
You are an engineer who is motivated by learning new things and solving problems. You are a curious person who likes to share his findings and knowledge with others. You hold a MSc degree in mechanical, electrical, physics or mechatronics engineering. You are experienced in analysing physical or mechatronic systems and software development. Special competences in transmissions, hybrid technology, engines or other powertrain components it is an asset. It is a great asses if you have IPR experiences. You are capable of expressing yourself fluently in English. A driving licenses for heavy vehicles is important. Knowledge in control engineering, embedded system and MathWorks software is a great asset.
