Clarins is one of the world’s leading skin care, cosmetics and perfume manufacturers. In 2021, Clarins will launch its Direct to Customer digital strategy in the Nordics, launching three websites, with three languages and three currencies across Sweden, Denmark and Norway, allowing Nordic consumers to purchase products directly from Clarins for the first time.

Clarins has engaged Safemind to find two key individuals to enable the launch of this new e-commerce business.

Given the significant challenge this represents, both individuals will require relevant knowledge and experience as well as a driven and entrepreneurial mindset. The right candidates will have a sophisticated understanding of e-commerce in the Nordics, how to engage consumers online and how to drive business across multiple digital channels.

About the role

Clarins wishes to find an E-Commerce Manager and Digital Acquisition Manager to be “on the ground” and drive the digital business across the region. Preparation for the launch is already underway and these two individuals will join forces with Clarins Brand Marketing, Social Media, Digital and Export teams in Geneva.

The focus for the Digital Acquisition Manager will be to build, manage and execute all digital acquisition marketing activity for the 3 Nordics websites to meet and exceed business goals and KPIs. Starting in early 2021, you will join the preparation phase for launch of the three websites and you will add knowledge of the local markets and how to reach out to consumers in the Nordics. You will be the central point of contact and liaise with external consultants and agencies helping you to grow the online business.

Your responsibilities

You will develop and execute a paid media strategy to drive revenue, on budget, on time and to ROI targets set. This will include:

  • Setting and monitoring cross channel paid media budgets, ensuring the right media mix to meet business KPIs, after validation from Clarins in Geneva
  • Developing a Paid Search, SEO, Affiliate, Google Shopping, Lead generation and Display Re-Marketing Strategy, and execute campaigns driving engagement and conversion
  • Managing the operational execution of campaign production (creative briefs, deployment, tracking, optimization & reporting), making sure all campaigns launch on time across all channels
  • Managing ad and content copywriting across channels
  • Troubleshooting any campaign issues with our technical team or any platform customer service (Google, Facebook, Instagram, etc)

The role will also include working closely with the Brand Marketing and Digital teams to align acquisition animation activity to brand pillars and launches to ensure a seamless end to end consumer journey. Also owning all analysis and reporting of all acquisition activities, defining KPIs and setting goals for each channel, tracking their ongoing performance and ensuring optimization of in-flight activity.

You will be expected to manage third party agencies and suppliers to support with strategy, in-channel forecasting, execution and optimization, ensuring all activity is delivered on time and to KPIs. You will also build strong relationships with partners to shape the business plan and influence first to market activity through technology.

About you

To succeed in this role you will have extensive e-commerce and digital acquisition experience in the Nordics, ideally having been involved in the launch of a Direct to Customer digital business before, ideally covering Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

In terms of technical skills, you will be familiar with:

  • Google Analytics, SEA, SEO, Instagram, Facebook
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Adobe Campaign highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of social media
  • Global understanding of a 360° brand platform

As a person you are energised by a challenge, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a high level of self-motivation. You will be versatile, analytical and equally happy to involve yourself in strategic as well as operational activities as the role evolves.

  • Previous experience working with fashion brands, cosmetics or beauty would be useful, however e-commerce and digital experience from other sectors may be relevant too
  • You will be customer centric, service oriented, and empathetic (for customer care)
  • You will be comfortable working autonomously with regular reporting to and direction from colleagues in Geneva or Paris
  • You will speak English and Swedish fluently. Other Nordic languages are highly beneficial
