Senior Android Developer

Job Description

For this position we are looking for a senior person who can take the lead in developing Qapital’s Android app. The role will include setting up the infrastructure for Qapital’s whole Android effort, such as continuous integration, frameworks and testing.

Currently the app is being developed for iOS, so part of the development process will involve adapting the app to Android’s unique design and interface guidelines. Most importantly we want someone who thinks outside the standard conventions and contributes with new interesting ideas on how to build immersive interfaces that feel alive. It is important that you have attention to detail and are ready to spend the time it takes to build a truly elegant application.

Skills & Requirements

• At least 2 years of Android development.
• Proven experience of Android UI development. Either past employment or open source projects.
• Strong programming skills with the ability to write and structure code in a readable and maintainable way.
• Genuine interest in making your UI feel fluent and alive.
• Strong background in the Java programming language.
• Great team skills, experience of team leadership is a plus.
• A degree in computer science or similar is a plus, but not required.
• You most likely have a Github account with code to show.
• You have one or more apps you've built or been a part of building.
