Netnod that manages the largest IX:es in Sweden for Internet traffic, one of three root nameservers outside of the US and DNS for a large number of TLDs with hardware all over the world is looking for programmers, specifically python.
We are a small company, 17 people, in Stadshagen in Stockholm. Customers are typically ISPs that sell Internet access (Tele2, Telia, Tre, Banhof etc), content providers (Netflix, Sveriges Radio) or registries for TLDs (DENIC, .SE, NORID, SIDN etc).
We use whatever computer and operating system we want (most of us use Mac, but some use Linux) but do develop for Linux (Debian) and the main system we have is based on Django. The development is agile and involve both improvements of existing systems as development of new products and services.
In this role you will be part of the Netnod Research and Development team. The Research and Development team is responsible for development and long-term evolution of products and services at Netnod.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include design, development and maintenance of software used at Netnod as a member of a small team of engineers, both employees and consultants.
Your tasks will include:
In close cooperation with other members of Research and Development design, develop and maintain software used at Netnod.
In cooperation with the Operations Team at Netnod debug and resolve problems in already deployed software. This also includes improving internal tools and systems used by Netnod staff.
Designing and implementing customer-facing features and products in cooperation with the Outreach and Communications Team at Netnod.
Qualifications: - Academic degree with IT focus, or equivalent - Experience from Unix/Linux environment - Experience from working in projects from start to launch of products. Experience from leading projects is a plus, including use of some project management framework - Experience from programming in C, Python or equivalent - Experience from working with revision control software development in groups with multiple contributors - Experience from working with users regarding development of software and systems that the users really like - Some experience of DNS, IP and IP routing is a plus - Good interpersonal skills - Good language skills in English and Swedish
