Scrum Master

We are a young app development company that has successfully created and launched a mobile app on iOS and Android. We have secured close to 1 million users and we continue to grow to have an even bigger user base. Over the last year, we have been featured in AppStore, Forbes, TechCrunch, Bloomberg, VentureBeat, etc, and have become the leading companion apps for anglers.

Our team consists of very talented software developers from all around the world who create everything in our product from infrastructure to UX design and everything in between. We are located in Stockholm, but often work remotely and are looking for someone who has experience with distributed development teams.

DESCRIPTION

As a Scrum Master at FishBrain, you will impact not just one team but an entire company. You will work closely with the development team and the executive team to improve our workflow and communication. In this role, you will use your teaching skills to educate the team about agile practices. You will also facilitate meetings to provide effective collaboration in the company. Of course you will need a good amount of leadership and coaching skills to support the agile development process and delivery of the application.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach and mentor the people in the core agile principles
• Learn and share about Agile techniques
• Coach the development team to self-organise
• Coach and develop product owner(s) and manager(s)
• Understand team dynamics and ensure the company is growing to become high-performing
• Understand and analyze our advantages and challenges as a company
• Work with the development team to help them set and achieve goals
• Introduce team metrics and implement best practices
• Facilitate meetings and use appropriate exercises to ensure the best outcome
• Help the team visualize and synchronize their work
• Challenge the status quo and lead continuous improvement for the company

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

• Experience as Scrum Master
• A proactive leader who connects with every member of their team
• Ability to coach groups and individuals in any organizational role
• Great communication skills
• Even greater people skills
• Knowledgeable about agile and lean ways of working
• Experience as a leader of remote workers

• Experience with implementing Scrum / agile ways of working both from scratch and in companies that have undergone an agile transformation
• Experience with startup companies
