Developing self-driving vehicles is highly dependent on a successful strategy for safety. Scania Autonomous Systems are looking for our next Safety Manager who will drive an active and structured work with systems- and functional safety. If you have experience and want to take a step to the next level you will be able to do so here. Your future job
You will work closely together with your safety team colleagues, and also with stakeholders on different levels, for example:

  • helping the management making decisions based on relevant input
  • assisting our development teams in delivering world class systems
  • plan and participate in different safety analysis work
  • communicate with customers in safety related matters

Higher demands on functional safety drives a need to build a safety culture in the organization, and here you and your colleagues together are important communicators and ambassadors. In this role, you will build a broad network within Scania R&D in general, and systems development in particular. You will work in different phases, from idea to finalised product. The position is available in a group specalizing in Functional Safety and Cyber Security at the department for Autonomous Development (EA)

Your profile
We are more interested in which questions you will ask, than what your answers is: we think you are a listener who are able to sort out relevant information and spread it within the organisation. We want our next Safety Manager to be a solution-oriented team player with ability to analyze, prioritize and delegate. We believe you are curious about new technology and about systems engineering - that you like to develop an understanding of the big picture and how the dots are connected, but also about which detailed issues that are needed to address.

You like the challenge of communicating complex information in an clear way, in meetings but also as a presenter. We believe that you have a background in engineering with a few years experience in system development in general. Ideally, you have experience from software intense systems, however it's not necessary to be a programmer to succeed in this position. At least 2 years of practical work with functional safety analysis methods is required and knowledge of standards such as IEC61508 and ISO 26262 is meritorious. Professional English skills are required (Swedish and other languages ​​are meritorious).
