The role

You work closely with Service Managers and other functions to ensure new contracts and renewals are completed in a timely manner following agreed protocols, at the best possible terms for RSA Scandinavia. 

  • You ensure continual software license compliance and manage financial risk of SW license incompliance for all entities of IT.
  • You gather detailed hardware and software inventory information that will be used for decision regarding hardware and software purchases and redistribution.
  • You support the organization to manage their systems more efficiently and reduce cost by avoiding unnecessary asset purchases and promoting harvesting of existing resources
  • You optimize license spend, by ensuring optimal use of software licenses purchased “buy what we need, use what we buy”, drive or/and assist decommissioning initiatives.
  • You are the owner of the Software Assets related processes & governance.
  • You implement and maintain accurate Software Asset Management (SAM) repositories and tools and you also propose and implement company SAM policies.
  • You challenge stakeholder to reduce cost where possible and review to resolve software license compliance issues
  • You work with Stakeholders regarding possible contract consolidations
  • You maintain accurate records of software and related assets. You deliver results according to the approved SAM plan and objectives.
  • You engage and ensure roles and responsibilities of SAM stakeholder community.
  • You ensure regular assessment of the risks associated with software and related assets, and management-specified mitigation approaches, their documentation and approval by the Risk Committee.
  • Moreover you create awareness in about the financial risks of non-compliancy by delivering presentations, awareness sessions, trainings for IT and business community.

The role report to RSA Scandinavia Head of Service Management

Responsibilities
  • Being the primary point of contact for all matters relating to our SAM tool including configuring and updating inventory agents, identifying and closing gaps in inventory visibility and uploading and configuring license records to calculate compliance.
  • Leading on new license requirements, maintenance renewals and true-ups with a focus on license compliance and cost optimization.
  • Management reporting on various Software Asset Management KPIs to ensure the SAM function is meeting its objectives, identifying opportunities for improvement and highlighting any areas carrying risk.
  • Assist in software vendor compliancy audits to minimize financial and reputational impacts.
  • Budget monitoring and escalation when required.
  • Train organization in to ensure license compliance and different license models implemented by our major software vendors.
  • Business needs translation in optimal software licensing model. 
Required skills
  • A strong understanding of datacenter and application infrastructure and how it relates to complicated metrics from software vendors  
  • Understanding and experience of working in an environment that utilizes cloud based infrastructure and how that may affect vendor licensing models.
  • Knowledge and previous experience of working with a SAM tool
  • Understanding of financial concepts and practices as they relate to software license and contract management
  • Experience with software life cycle management processes.
  • Experience with planning and executing software audits to verify and enforce compliance.
  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure and configuration management processes.
  • Awareness and understanding of relevant industry trends and issues, as well as vendor organizations and business practices within the field of software license management and compliance.
  • Understanding the importance of optimization and constant need to look out for new initiatives or alternatives to accelerate cost reductions.
  • Ability to identify and highlight roadblocks and dependencies for optimization initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, research, organizational skills, and attention to detail as well as the ability to multi-task and operate in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and translate high-level business requirements to software requirements.
Competences
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • SAM Essentials or other SAM specific qualification
  • You have a university with at least 5 years relevant Software Asset Management/Software License Optimization experience.
  • You have knowledge of: IT processes ITILv3, COBIT, IT audit, SW compliance audit, IT procurement
  • You are able to work with confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – with both technical and non-technical staff at all levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong commercial & financial understanding with experience interpretating software licensing terms, structures and contracts.

The role is Nordic, based in Malmö, travelling will be required.
