A day in the life of a Optimizely Backend Developer

As an Optimizely Architect, you fulfil a unique and rewarding role as both a consultant/client advisor, and a technical leader. You will shape and participate in every stage of new and ongoing client engagements, from pre-sales, discovery to delivery; collaborating within both regional project teams and our global Optimizely craft circle.

You will also actively participate in the pre-sales process, contributing to pitches and client presentations. Leveraging your technical expertise, you'll effectively communicate how Optimizely solutions align with client needs and objectives, ensuring a seamless transition from initial discussions to project execution.

More specifically, you will: 

• Engage with our clients' stakeholders from both IT and Business aligning our solutions to provide business value
• Define and implement scalable and resilient architecture solutions for Optimizely projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices
• Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams in designing and integrating complex backend systems, including Optimizely CMS and Commerce platforms, with diverse external systems and services
• Champion architectural decisions and provide mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and collaboration
• Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and technical challenges, developing strategies to optimize application responsiveness and efficiency
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the digital landscape

You and the role

You are most likely someone with 8+ years experience in backend development with a focus on Optimizely CMS. You have experience handling extensive customer interaction, know how to communicate with clients, and how to identify additional ways your team can add value. You thrive in fast-paced, agile environment and are eager to contribute to a team that values innovation, creativity, and quality. 

We would love if you have 

• Proven experience as an Optimizely Backend Developer at a Lead or Architect level
• Strong knowledge of of .NET / .NET Core framework (C#), API driven development and Privacy by Design
• Extensive experience with Optimizely CMS and preferably Optimizely Commerce, including content modelling, personalization, and e-commerce integration
• Proficiency in SQL, and experience with database design and development
• Experience with cloud (Azure) and DevOps practices
• Experience in developing and implementing optimization strategies for complex digital ecosystems
• Experience in leading architectural design for enterprise projects, proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks, and preferably relevant certifications validating professional development
